Summer is here, and you are excited to land your feet in Europe. The question is, are you ready? That’s the first problem. Europe is expensive, especially in summer - that's the second. What's worse is, you are not sure that you have got enough money to travel - that's the third. Lucky me, I have done a number of smart ways to travel in Europe on a budget, some times. There are five simple tips that can help you to have one of the best holidays in your life.

1. Do Note
Tell me the last time you cannot remember all the money gets eaten when you travel. It must be quite sometimes. The easiest way to track is to bring a note and do write on it. Every expense should be noted in order to track where all you money goes. Not only will journey be less spent, but also you anticipate what comes next unexpectedly such as shopping or something urgent. There is also one thing you can do before getting here, do your travel budget, It’s the safest way to control your money.

2. Hit the Earth
The second tip to have a budget travel in Europe is you need to hit the earth, not the sky.
The last time I can remember, a flight from Istanbul to Paris costs US$ 40 – 50 only. Fyi, All major cities in Europe is fully covered by low-cost airlines offering cheap flights, the problem is you might not have the chance to get these cheapest seats, it has probably been taken up. Eurail train pass is the exit, this one is also my favorite, hitting the earth by taking a land transportation. However in order to make this work out to be very good value and budget, you need a forward planning – itinerary, to move quite often from one place to another to get your money’s worth.

The other cheaper option is taking bus station and a coach. A modern coach is pretty comfortable, some often come with free Wifi, and these are usually cheaper than a flight or train ticket. Some people say the journey times will be a bit longer, yes correct, but if you get a night bus, you can save even twice and you find it fun (especially when you travel with some friends or know some new people along the way). Not only will the journey be cheaper but also you do not need to provide the accommodation that evening either, or you can find another alternative which is sharing a car with people making a same journey as you.

Last but not least, walking and public transport option also can be taken if you are exploring a new city in Europe. Everything becomes so fun when it comes to travel, especially walking. Brace yourself for a walk, and for a moment. You have no idea where you are at, therefore you begin to find out all around you: culture, city landscape, local food, etc, and for it you walk. Don’t forget to prepare the itinerary as well, you will find it easier which public transport to take and what time is perfect to visit one place to another.

3. Meet the East
Paris, London, Rome and Berlin are some major cities that come in my mind when i say about Europe. But those major cities come so expensive, especially in summer. I prefer to take some other cheap cities as my departure points, so where i should go first then? Eastern Europe.
Sure enough, everything is less expensive, but you still can get the amazing places to experience. Krakow, Prague, Budapest, Warsaw are some of the major cities in Eastern Europe. Your journey will be absolutely cheaper yet you get a new perspective of how many places to explore in Europe

4. Sharing is Fun
“It’s always more fun to share with everyone” Have you ever heard the quote in your childhood? Sharing is the easiest way to make traveling cheaper. Undoubtedly accommodation cost is the most expensive part of traveling, and therefore you share. I was spending my night with some of my friends. We stayed in the hostels with shared dorm rooms. That was fun, totally. My costs was immediately coming down and i do not have to ask strangers to take me pictures. The simple thing you need to do is a little bit search of cheap beds and take a look for online review.

5. Eat Local Food

How to enjoy the real country to the fullest? Eat the local's food. The fact is the more you eat, the more your budget comes up, but it won't work if you do what locals do. This is the most amazing way to save your money and give it a try to taste some amazing local food that probably won't exist in your country. I always want to find as many as possible local foods i can reach.
