introduction.
I never imagined I would fall for Turkey. Back then in 2016, I still remember Turkey is not too popular among Indonesian travelers or people. But in 2019? Turkey is one of the top destinations offered by tour operators. This post is dedicated to one of the amazing cities I've ever been to in the world, Cappadocia. Whether you're traveling to Turkey during winter or summer, you should consider making a stop off in Cappadocia en route, even if it's only for a weekend. Trust me, it's worth it. I have spent a couple of days exploring Cappadocia on a budget trip and I hope my insights here can give you some inspiration to make a visit on this wonderful and magical Goreme Valley of Turkey.

things to do and see. Museums, Valleys, and an Underground City.
There are enough things to see in Cappadocia for a weekend. Some are walkable and some are not. Here are the best things you can do and visit during your weekend trip.

Uchisar Castle stands at the highest point of Goreme National Park, this tall volcanic-rock outcrop offers a stunning panoramic view. Wind your way up the stairs to its peak for views over the rocky valleys of the Cappadocian countryside. Try to get as early as possible to avoid the tour-bus groups, as the castle is a major tourist attraction.

Hiking the full trail between Ihlara Valley, Belisirma and Selime historic sites. I came on a tour, including stops to visit the churches along the way and it takes more than hours in total. If you're planning to walk the entire trail, better start early in the day.

Standing as the deepest with approximately 85m deep this Derinkuyu underground city is located 40 km from Goreme, it takes 30 minutes drive.

Make a visit to one of Turkey's Unesco World Heritage Sites, the Goreme Open-Air Museum. Along with its rock-cut, churches, chapels and monasteries, this site is an essential stop on any Cappadocian itinerary and deserves your two to three hours visit.

Last but not least, take Hot Air Balloon flight in Cappadocia for approximately 1 to two flying hour in the early morning with only 100-120 euros (it depends on how many of you in a group). Known as one of the best places to fly with hot air balloons around the world, it offers you a spectacular surrealistic landspace.

How to Get Here
Goreme is the main visitor centre for the visitors to the park, though Nevsehir, Avanos, and Urgup also have tourist facilities. These towns can be reached via long-distance buses from Istanbul and Ankara.

Eating, Accommodation & Transporation Around
Try its famous pottery kebab at Comlex Restaurant. Served with bread on top and white rice, unbelievably tasty.

If you only have a weekend in Cappadocia then its 100% best to stay in the centre town of Goreme. We stayed in Emre Stone House. It's 50m distance close to the town centre.

If you come on tour, there's nothing you need to worry, as usually everything is managed by the tours. but if you don't, take a taxi. Within Goreme, you'll find all the taxi more helpful and cheaper especially when you come in groups
